No plan to sue companies with similar names Venkatachari Jagannathan It is the practice of multi national companies when they set up operations in India to sue the domestic ones with similar sounding names. In many cases the foreign companies have succeeded. But Computer Sciences Corporation India Pvt Limited seems to be treading a different path. Responding to the query about rumours that the company would be sending a legal notice to others having the acronym CSC in their name (in Tamil Nadu there is a software training chain by the name CSC Computer Education) Padmaja Krishnan, director - marketing, planning and research says, "Our clients know us and the space we operate. We don't have any plans to sue other companies with similar sounding names or with similar acronyms." |
