New Delhi: EXL Service, India's No 1 third-party business process outsourcing (BPO) services provider (Source: Nasscom Survey 2002) has launched its third facility in Noida. With this launch, EXL Services becomes a 68,000-sq ft BPO behemoth, with a capacity to operate 4,500 seats on a three-shift basis, up from the previous 3,000.

The new centre is a state-of-the-art facility spanning four floors and will also house the corporate office of the company in India. It has a capacity of 500 billable (capacity not including team leaders, management and support staff) seats complete with training centres and a state-of-the-art auditorium.

EXL Service CEO Vikram Talwar says: “EXL's expansion is in line with the committed as well as expected new business forecasts for this year. New businesses are expected to come in from UK and US companies soon.“ EXL is expected to achieve an annualised revenue milestone of US $30 million, within its second year of operations. This is significant because EXL started making profits right from its first full year of operations (2001). The quarter ending 30 June 2002 recorded a 250-per cent growth in the bottomline over the last quarter. The company, therefore, has the ability to fund its expansion plans in the immediate future entirely from its internal cash accruals. It is already debt-free in its second year of operations, in spite of the capital-intensive nature of this business.

Having achieved critical mass, EXL has embarked on an aggressive campaign to acquire clients in the US market using its marketing offices in New York and Oakland. This effort is yielding results with several new clients scheduled to come on board in the coming months.
