Funskool ties up, to distribute Lego merchandise in India

Toy brandFunskool (India) Ltd has acquired exclusive distribution rights from Lego Group to distribute the complete range of Lego toys in India
Initially, Funskool will offer toys like Lego Duplo, Lego City, Lego Creator, Lego Technic, Lego Atlantis, Lego Racers, LegoMindstorms and Lego Starwars and later graduate to other categories based on demand and requirement.
K John Baby, CEO, Funskool (India) Limited, said, ''LegoGroup is one of the most popular and sought after names in the world toy industry and we are delighted to partner them to distribute their products in the India market. With this association, we expect to further strengthen our leadership status in the Indian toy industry.''
It plans to hold intensive campaigns on TV and print media backed with aggressive on ground promotions to promote Lego products in the country.
Funskool already represents other toy brands in India.
It has a joint-venture partnership with Hasbro Inc, USA, for its entire range of toys; licenses from Walt Disney and Warner Bros for board games and puzzles and representation for Tomy, the Japanese toy maker in India.
Some of the popular games that Funskool markets include Dora, Doraemon, Noddy, Transformers, NERF, PlayDoh, Playskool, Monopoly and others.
Lego group established its presence in India in April and is amongst the prominent toy manufacturers leading in construction toys. It was founded in 1932 and is headquartered in Denmark.
