Mumbai: FedEx Express, the world's largest express transportation company, and GeoPost, a holding of the express parcel delivery companies within La Poste Groupe, have signed a renewal agreement, extending their operational agreement by 10 years. The original operating agreement was established on 1 January 2001.
As a result of this agreement, FedEx customers benefit from the extensive ground infrastructures of Chronopost International in those areas of France and Belgium which are not served directly by FedEx. Likewise, GeoPost customers can benefit from FedEx's European and global network.
This reinforces the FedEx-GeoPost alliance and reflects the strong cooperative relationship built by the two parties. It also reflects their ambition to continue their growth strategy in the international express segment in Europe.
"This is the latest in a series of strategic business alliances initiated by FedEx since it opened its hub at CDG airport and launched the FedEx EuroOne network," says FedEx president (Europe, Middle East & Africa) Robert W Elliott. "Such initiatives enable FedEx to be the preferred supplier of international express box shipments in Europe."
