GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has signed a 5-year multi-million dollar SAP contract for its global businesses with Mahindra Satyam, the new identity of fraud-hit Satyam Computer Services.
GSK is Mahindra Satyam's biggest client in the life sciences business, which has been involved with it since 2002.
Bill Louv, chief information officer, GSK, said, "GSK is delighted to be able to extend our contract for another five years. We look forward to continuing to receive the high level of professionalism and commitment from Satyam and its associates that we have experienced over the past seven years."
GSK will receive 24 / 7 support for SAP from offshore locations at Hyderabad, and onsite centres in the US and Europe.
"This development is a big boost for Mahindra Satyam, as it sends positive signals across a large number of clients, especially in Europe and the US," said Jacob Paul, head of global delivery (health sciences), Mahindra Satyam.
"GSK's selection truly recognises the competitive spirit and resolve of the associates of Mahindra Satyam, whose skills, commitment and delivery excellence were unmatched," said CP Gurnani, CEO of Mahindra Satyam.
