Triveni teams with GE Oil & Gas to manufacture steam turbines

Bangalore-based power producer and supplier of steam turbo-generators Triveni Engineering & Industries has signed a joint venture agreement with GE Oil & Gas, part of the New York-based diversified conglomerate General Electric Company to design advanced steam turbines in India.
GE is the world's largest manufacturer of jet engines and power-production turbines.
The two companies will design, manufacture and service advanced technology steam turbines between 30 MW and 100 MW steam for power generation in India and expots.
Under the JV, GE Triveni Limited will be incorporated in India and headquartered in Bangalore. GE will transfer its technology and give R&D support, for manufacturing at Triveni's Bangalore facility.
