Hyderabad: General Motors India has launched India's first premium hatchback, Opel Corsa Sail.
This stylish hatchback, the latest entrant in the mini-segment, is equipped with all the standard luxury features of C-segment cars. The all-new Corsa Sail, among other things, combines solid German build, well appointed and designed interiors along with the premium Opel branding.
This exciting hot-hatch will now join the much sought after other GM models that have already set benchmarks in their respective segments for top-of-the-line features and impeccable build quality.
The Corsa Sail, a symbol of prestige and style in the hatchback category, boasts of several features which have never been offered in the mini-segment cars. They include triple information display system (TID), pollen filter, engine protection shield, adjustable rear seatback recline angle, height adjustable seatbelts and Opel patented dropaway type foot pedals.
It has a wheelbase of 2,443 mm, making it the longest in the mini-segment, a proud claim indeed, in line with the advertising by-line for the Corsa Sail, "the power to break free." This extended wheelbase ensures maximum cabin space for the occupants. The superbly designed suspension, tuned for the Indian driving conditions, gives the Corsa Sail a unique ability to glide over roughest of roads with ease. The smart, stylish and contemporary Corsa Sail will be available in two engine options of 1.4 and 1.6 litre.
Says General Motors India vice-president (corporate affairs) P Balendran: "In terms of excellence in engineering, safety features, passenger comfort, space design, cost of ownership and ease in driving and parking, it is a car that is ideal for use within cities and highways. The all-new Corsa Sail offers a lot more for a little bit more.
"Keeping in line with GM's aggressive marketing approach woven around the all-new Corsa Sail, it has been attractively priced, given all the features, to take the competition in its segment. The Corsa Sail, carved out of the Corsa platform, is part of GM India's commitment to provide cars in the mainstream segment.
"The Sail provides the customers with excellent interior space while the compact exteriors provide for the low turning radius ensuring easy maneuverability to move around in the crowded city streets. The precision of German engineering and attention to detail has resulted in ergonomically designed and extremely comfortable interiors.
"Comfort
and convenience to the passengers have been accorded
the highest priority through top-of-the-line features.
