Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd has become the first Indian company to implement an FDA compliant comprehensive drug labeling framework. Called easy Labeling Solution, it has been developed specifically by HCL Technologies for pharmaceutical companies to streamline drug labeling, product information lifecycles and comply with the US FDA's 'structured product labeling' (SPL) regulations.
Glenmark, an India-based global pharmaceutical company, will be able to leverage the this labelling solution for customers around the world. It is the first pharmaceutical company in India to implement an SPL compliance solution. Built on the Documentum platform, the Company's easy Labeling Solution enables content creation in XML format through a user-friendly browser-based interface. This enables pharmaceutical companies, like Glenmark to easily create, manage and Intelligently reuse product information for regulatory filings, and meet the FDA's new SPL guidelines that went into effect in June 2005.
Commenting on the Company's alliance with Glenmark, Pradep Nair, Vice President and Head for the Global Life Sciences practice at the Company said, "Our association with Glenmark takes HCL's Life Sciences practice to the next level as we cater to a global pharmaceutical company that has a very large and complex product information database.
