GM India launches updated Chevrolet Cruze

General Motors India today launched the updated Chevrolet Cruze, priced between Rs13.70 lakh and 16.19 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Rajesh Singh, VP, sales, marketing and after sales, General Motors India said, GM was constantly upgrading its carlines according to evolving needs of the Indian consumer, The Times of India reported. He said the updated Chevrolet Cruze with all new Gen2 automatic transmission returns improved fuel economy and also provided turn indicators on outside rear view mirrors, both of which were crucial for Indian road conditions.
The updated 2014 Chevrolet Cruze features both manual and automatic six speed transmission mated to the turbocharged 2.0-litre VCDi engine.
The Chevrolet Cruze delivers 166 PS of power with 380 Nm of torque, with the 6-Speed Automatic Transmission offering fuel economy of 14.81 kmpl as per ARAI, while the manual variant offered a fuel efficiency of 17.3 kmpl.
Meanwhile, the Chevrolet Cruze has bagged the award for the most appealing premium midsize car of 2013 by JD Power Asia Pacific.
The Automotive Performance Execution and Layout (APEAL) is study conducted by JD Power every year among new vehicle owners between 2 and 6 months of ownership to identify what excites and delights owners about their new vehicles performance and design. This study identifies features and attributes that make vehicles stand out to their owners.
The award signifies yet another feather in the cap for Chevrolet Cruze, the highest selling Chevrolet nameplate globally. The Cruze had earlier also won the most dependable premium midsize car in the 2013 JD Power Asia Pacific VDS (vehicle dependability study).
Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) is study conducted by JD Power every year among vehicle owners between 30 and 42 months of ownership to measure overall vehicle dependability and reliability perceptions which reduce the rate of problems and improve long term vehicle quality.
