Google has launched a tool to help online shoppers in India find information about thousands of products and their prices through web pages, Google said in a statement on Tuesday.
"Google users can access information on product names, prices and images from about 30,000 Indian websites and portals with a new tool through its search engine," the search engine firm's Indian subsidiary said in the statement.
The tool scans millions of web pages and extracts product names, prices and images and presents the information to users to help them with their search. With the help of the new technology, users will receive information from more than 30,000 Indian internet sites, enabling them to research a variety of products on a single page.
According to Vinay Goel, Google India products' head, the tool also helps users select a price range from the listings with specific information on diverse products.
According to a recent study, online search has become an integral part of the product purchase decision process for end-users. The tool is designed to allow users to make decisions faster and find deals online.
Users need to simply enter the product name into the Google search box and then on the results page click, the "Show Options" link above the search results and then select "Shopping".
