Google launches Google Play Music subscription in India

Google India has launched Google Play Music subscription services in India, offering streaming music that reduces data consumption. Google Play Music is available on Android, iOS and the web in India.
As an introductory offer, the service is available for a discounted subscription of Rs89 per month, in case the user signs up within the first 45 days.
''With Google Play Music subscription, Indian subscribers can listen to their favourite music across a variety of languages, including Hindi, English, Tamil and more. This music can be accessed from any device with your Google Account. To make the experience deeply personalised, we've plugged into Google's understanding of context and machine learning to recommend the right music at the right moment based on each listener's preference, place and activity,'' Elias Roman, Lead Product Manager, Google Play Music said.
Google Play Music offers a music catalogue of over 40 million local and international hits, and the service also provides offline listening and on-demand access to the full catalogue. It also allows listeners to find music by language or by their favourite Bollywood artistes and music directors and watch videos on the same app.
Google Play Music is like a personal pocket-sized DJ who will preferred music across genres and around the world, the company said in a statement.
Google Play Music will curate hand-picked playlists to personalise music for the listeners for a variety of occasions. It will also allow users to stream music using minimal data on mobile.
