Hyundai Motor launches LPG version of Santro at Auto Expo ’08

New Delhi: Hyundai Motor India, India's largest car exporter and second largest car manufacturer in the country has made a mark at the Auto Expo 2008 with the launch of the Santro LPG version.
Earlier the company had launched the CNG version of its flagship model in the country and in future plans to add to the LPG range in the future by offering LPG variants for other models.
Also on display at the Hyundai stall are two of its bold new concept cars, the Veloster and the QarmaQ.
The Santro LPG is powered by a 1086 cc engine and promises reliable performance with high fuel efficiency. The engine is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The company will soon inaugurate a new manufacturing plant at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu. The new plant, with its state-of-the-art production facility would double Hyundai's production capacity in India to over 600,000 units per annum.
At the ninth Auto Expo being held at New Delhi Hyundai is also displaying two bold new concept cars the QarmaQ, Hyundai's first in the crossover coupe segment and the iconic Veloster, a lifestyle product named to combine 'velocity' and the qualities of a 'roadster'. The QarmaQ is Hyundai's Advanced Technology Demonstration Vehicle (ATDV) that showcases over 30 different environmentally progressive technologies, an innovative solution that can help reduce the risk of severe injuries.
Hyundai also showcased its range of cars including the Accent, Verna and a fully kitted version of the Getz, the recently launched i10 and the Sonata CRDi VGT Automatic. Hyundai's i10 launched in October 2007, which is the first car from the Hyundai stable to be globally launched from India, is now being manufactured and exported from India. Also on display are the premium 7-seater SUV Santa Fe and the stylish sedan Avante with its unique offer of three different engine choices.
