Hyundai Motor India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company of South Korea, today raised the prices of its Santro, i10 and Accent cars across all variants between Rs3,601 and Rs14,636. The new prices are applicable with immediate effect.

Hyundai India, the country's largest exporter and the second largest car manufacturer, said the price hike, ranging between 1.2 per cent and 3.0 per cent, has primarily been due to rise in input cost.

After the price hike, the flagship brand Santro will be costlier by Rs3,601 to Rs5,163, the premium hatchback i10 will be dearer by Rs3,974 to Rs7,637 and the price of the Accent will go up by Rs14,636.

Prices of all the other models, including the newly launched premium hatch i20 and the premium luxury car Sonata, remains unchanged as they are sill under the introductory pricing.

The new Verna launched this week, however, sports a revised price tag.

Hyundai India, like the other car manufacturers in the country, had, in December last, reduced the prices after the government's announcement of a 4 per cent reduction in central value added tax.

Other car manufacturers in the country like Maruti Suzuki, Honda Siel, Toyota Kirloskar and Ford Motor India had also announced price hikes due rising costs, including higher import bill.
