Hyundai Motor India hikes prices

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the country's largest passenger car exporter and second largest car manufacturer afte Maruti Suzuki, has hiked prices across all its models, starting from Eon to Santa Fe.
The price increase, which are in the range of Rs4,201-Rs20,878, take effect from 1 February 2013.
''On account of rise in input cost and fluctuation in currency, the price hike has been necessitated. We have tried to absorb the maximum cost to minimise the price increase to cause less inconvenience to our valued customers,'' said HMIL vice president (sales and marketing) Rakesh Srivastava.
HMIL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of South Korea's Hyundai Motor Company, currently markets nine passenger car models across segments.
