South Korean auto maker Hyundai yesterday launched the Elite i20, priced between Rs4.9 lakh and Rs 7.67 lakh, in India.
Business Standard reported, Hyndai is looking to step up domestic sales by 8 per cent to 410,000 units in 2014. The second generation i20 Elite would compete with Maruti Suzuki's Swift and Volkswagen Polo in India.
Hyundai started the pre-launch bookings for the Elite i20 on 1 August, indianautosblog.com reported. The company has received over 4,600 pre-launch bookings for the hatchback, of which 2,600 are for the petrol variants and 2,000 for the diesel variant.

The company did not launch an automatic transmission on the Elite i20 yesterday, though, a variant would be available on the petrol trim, for which the company would reveals the price at a later date.
