Hyundai's latest offering, the 2017 Ioniq EV, is an eco-friendly car and the first to be offered in three electrified versions, Auto World News reported.
The South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer is the largest car maker in the world and the largest in Asia.
The 2017 Hyundai Ioniq EV's design allows it to manage the airflow thanks to several active and passive aerodynamic features, an active aero front grille, wheels air curtains, a rear spoiler and a smooth underbody cover, which helps the car deliver a 0.24 coefficient drag, the report said.
It added, with the aluminum and high-strength steel, the 2017 Ioniq gets a light and rigid body structure and with less weight the engine can deliver higher miles per gallon (MPG) with better range and acceleration.
Auto World News said what made the new 2017 Hyundai Ioniq EV eco-friendly was its interior design, made from powdered wood, volcanic rocks, sugar cane, and recycled plastics, it said.
The model features a power tilt-and-slide sunroof, heated front seats and an 8-inch coloured touchscreen display with Android play, Apple CarPlay, and a rearview camera.
There was also a handy holder for tablets located between the front seats and it also had a 60/40 folding seatback.
With the all-new electric 2017 Hyundai Ioniq EV buyers get three-electric versions in one car – the Ioniq electric, the Ioniq Hybrid, and the Ioniq plug-in hybrid. It allows the driver to choose which version to use, either electric or gas, the report said. All those features, however come with a standard range of 110 miles.
Also for the safety of the passengers, the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq EV comes with some of the most innovative and modern safety features available like the automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and blind-spot detection. As regards technology and convenience, the 2017 Ioniq comes with smartphone integration, wireless charging, and smart cruise control.
The price for the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq EV had been estimated at around $22,000, which was cheaper than the other Hyundai vehicles.
