Technology company HP on Thursday unveiled the HP DreamScreen400 that offers easy access to internet, localised content and services.

The "developed in India, for India" tabletop product is designed to enhance education, deliver news and entertainment, link families, enrich spiritual life and provide access to the web via a touch interface, the company said in a statement.

DreamScreen400 has an 18.5-inch diagonal touch screen display, a DVD optical drive, and is powered by technology from Intel.

Priced at Rs19,999-plus taxes, the product is expected to be available in India later this month, at approximately 700 outlets across 60 cities in the country.

HP collaborated with Indian content and service providers to create content specifically tailored for a market, the company said.

The intuitive user interface provides information ranging from school curricula to Bollywood TV and music in English or Hindi, video calls, real-time religious services from webcams stationed in faraway temples.
