ICICI Pru Life new premium up 169 per cent

Mumbai: ICICI Prudential Life Insurance has collected Rs498 crore new business premium, 87 per cent of which came from unit-linked products, during April-September 2004.

A press release issued by the company said it wrote over 2.14 lakh policies for a total sum assured of over Rs6,400 crore. Year-on-year, new premium grew 169 per cent, Rs268 crore coming in the July-September quarter.

ICICI Prudential claims to enjoy a market share of 32 per cent among private sector insurers. Its total market share is 5.6 per cent, the release said.
