Patna: With encomiums pouring in, the railway minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav's wife, Rabri Devi, also ex-chief minister of Bihar, added to the gush by declaring her husband to be Indian Railway's best-ever minister.
According to Rabri, the record Rs20,000-crore profit was the result of the untiring efforts of the railway fraternity under the leadership of Laluji.
Describing the introduction of 32 trains, including five for Bihar, as praiseworthy, she said the greenfield electric locomotive manufacturing unit at Madhepura was a big gift to an industrially backward Bihar.
Madhepura, of course, is the seat that Lalu Yadav gave up after being forced to choose between it and Chhapra, both of which he had won in the elections to the 14th Lok Sabha.
Rabri also thanked the railway minister for showing respect to women by introducing the facility of reservation of lower berths for women above 45 years travelling alone.
