The Pune centre has been set up in partnership with a local engineering group, Demech and is scheduled to begin its programme from August 15, 1999. The training will be provided to students in batches of ten and will cover areas like e-commerce, data mining, datawarehousing and ERP.
Mr Muralidharan said that this move of setting up training centres was with a view to create a pool of qualified and trained software professionals in the wake of emerging opportunities in the field of e-commerce and datawarehousing. Database technology is central to these areas. While globally Informix is into education it has entered this field in India only now.
