Jet Airways introduces online missing baggage location facility
27 Feb 2006
Jet Airways will offer passengers the facility of tracing their missing baggage online through its world-wide computerised baggage tracing system. This can be accessed on the Jet Airways official web site. The airline says that it has become the first airline in the country to provide this convenience to passengers.
Passengers reporting their missing baggage or delays in receiving their baggage at Jet Airways'' airport offices are provided a 10-character file reference, which can be keyed in along with their last name on the web site to get information about the baggage status.
Passengers are required to keep a copy of:
- The mishandled baggage report that is given to them.
- Receipts for any emergency or replacement items that are required, in order to claim insurance or emergency expenses if applicable...
- Original flight ticket or electronic ticket reference, baggage receipts and excess baggage ticket (if applicable).
During the interim period while passengers await their baggage, the airline says, it will keep them posted about the status of their baggage. They are intimated once the baggage has been located and is delivered to their contact address.
