KEC International bags new orders worth Rs207 crore

RPG Group company KEC International Ltd has bagged two orders totaling Rs207 crore - Rs166 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) and Rs41 crore from CESC Limited, another RPG group company.
The PGCIL order is for the supply and construction of for tower package – A8 for Gomti River–Nidhaura Village portion of an 800 kV HVDC bipole Biswanath Chariyali- Agra transmission Line associated with North East – Northern / Western Interconnector-I Project.
The line, to be constructed in Uttar Pradesh, has a total length of 192.5 km and the project is scheduled to be completed by December 2011. The project is funded by the Asian Development Bank. This is the first time that an 800 kV HVDC line is being constructed in India, KEC said in a release.
The CESC order is for the construction of 220 kV M/C portion of overhead transmission line from AP TW 2/0 to Kasba (Nonadanga S/S) under Budge Budge Unit III evacuation project. The line, to be constructed in West Bengal, has a total line length of 15km and the project is scheduled to be completed by June 2009.
