Chennai: Kinetic Motor's four-stroke automatic scooter Nova has won the ICICI Overdrive scooter of the year 2003 award, overtaking other models like the Honda Dio, Honda Activa, Bajaj Legent and the Bajaj Chetak 4S.
Nova had, earlier this year, won a similar award from Business Standard Motoring, another auto magazine.
Speaking on the twin consecutive victories, Kinetic Motor chairman Arun Firodia says: “The Nova showcases our product development capability, and matches or betters the competition on every single parameter including styling, performance, utility and economy.“
The company has sold over 30,000 Novas since its launch earlier this year, and is targeting sales of over 55,000 vehicles in its first year of the launch. The company recently announced a two-year warranty for the Nova, making it the first for the scooter segment in India.
The Nova is already being exported to Latin America and South Asia, and the company is working on homologating it for Europe, the US and Australia.
