Marico’s Q3 net rises 21 per cent to Rs84 crore

Consumer goods major Marico has reported a 21-per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs84.11 crore during October-December 2011-12 and a 29 per cent increase in turnover at Rs1067 crore during the quarter.
Marico has sustained profitability for the 45th consecutive quarter while the company saw its turnover grow for the 49th successive quarter in October-December 2011-12.
Consolidated group net profit stood at Rs84.11 crore during the quarter ended 31 December 2011 compared to Rs69.53 crore during the previous year quarter, unaudited results released by the company showed.
Consolidated income increased to Rs1,067.06 crore during the quarter ended 31 December 2011, from Rs824.65 crore during the quarter ended 31 December 2010.
The fiscal third quarter results, however, include certain one-time items and hence are not comparable with the previous quarters, the company said in its filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The company's standalone net profit stood at Rs87.36 crore during the quarter ended 31 December 2011, compared to Rs56.29 crore during the comparable quarter of the previous financial year.
