Maruti launches new Ritz Diesel that gives 23.2 km per litre
03 Sep 2012
Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has unveiled a more efficient model of the Ritz, which would deliver 23.2 km per litre of diesel - a 10 per cent improvement from the earlier fuel efficiency of 21.1 km per litre.
The new Ritz Diesel has a base price of Rs5.31 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki said the reduced fuel consumption has been achieved by numerous innovations by the company's engineers, including use of reduced friction engine and calibration optimization.
The revised model incorporates 52 changes from the earlier Ritz, including new front design, new dual tone interiors, new ZDi variant, multi-information display on instrument panel, new audio system with USB, electronically-adjustable rear view mirrors and body side moulding, the company said in a stock market release.
For the first time, the company also introduced an all-new ZDi variant at Rs6.23 lakh in Ritz Diesel with top-of-the-line features such as alloy wheels, duel front air bags and steering audio controls.
"It is heartening to see a fairly young brand crossing 2,00,000 sales mark in just 37 months. This reflects the huge customer acceptability of the Ritz. Numerous changes being introduced now will make the Ritz brand more vibrant. Most important, the new Ritz is more fuel-efficient with enhanced driving comfort. This makes it even more attractive for the customer and also gives us confidence to generate additional sales," Maruti Suzuki India vice president (marketing) Manohar Bhat said.
