Maruti Suzuki’s Vitara Brezza second top-selling SUV in India
30 May 2016
Maruti Suzuki's Vitara Brezza has received enthusiastic thumbs up in the Indian market since its launch.
Maruti's first ever compact SUV grabbed a place in the top 10 selling utility vehicles in March 2016 and took the second spot beating Mahindra Bolero in the list in April 2016. In fact, the Vitara Brezza almost beat the segment best-seller, Hyundai Creta, last month; 7,832 units of the Maruti Vitara Brezza were sold in April, even as Hyundai sold 7,900 units of the Creta.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza's success had become a source of worry for Ford. The US carmaker's EcoSport was forced out of the top 5 list by the former.
To counter the threat and make a comeback Ford has lined up a multi-media brand campaign. Ford, which had been struggling with the sales of the Figo Aspire sub-compact sedan and the Figo hatchback, pitches its campaign around its after-sales and service quality.
According to a PTI report, the budget for this customer outreach customers is over Rs200 crore.
A Ford India spokesperson told PTI, "Aligning with Ford's vision of 'Go Further', the new campaign encompasses the entire gamut of Ford portfolio of products and services, promising trust and transparency as experienced being part of a family."
