Mercedes-Benz launches Rs1.3-cr E63 MAG in India

Close on the heels of its much-advertised new 'C' class version, German auto giant Mercedes-Benz on Saturday launched the E63 AMG in the Indian market.
The E63 AMG, the top-of-the-line variant of the Mercedes E-Class, is priced at around Rs1.30 crore.
Eberhard Kern, managing director and chief executive of Mercedes-Benz India. unveiled the E63 AMG at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida, near Delhi, on Saturday.
The E63 boasts of a 557 HP engine, which is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.2 seconds. It is also fuel-efficient, according to the company.
"The E 63 AMG combines the attributes of a sports car with the practicality of a luxury sedan. The stunning new design idiom is in line with the new AMG design philosophy,'' said Kern at the launch.
Mercedes-Benz India has set 2013 as the year of offensive to reclaim the leadership spot in luxury segment, which is now led by fellow-German rival BMW with Audi at a close third.
In the first six months, Mercedes-Benz has clawed back to second position and believes it will have the arsenal to launch a bid for the top spot in 2015-16.

After pioneering a new segment with A-Class and launching the most sought after luxury executive sedan E-Class, the launch of the new E 63 AMG further reiterates our promise of bringing fascinating cars and providing a memorable brand experience for valued customers of the three-pointed star (the Mercedes emblem) in India," Kern said.
