Mumbai: McDonald's India is planning to open five more restaurants in the western region — four in Mumbai and one in Ahmedabad — for which the company has earmarked around Rs 2.5 crore per mall. The restaurant chain, which had recently opened an outlet in the northeastern suburb of Mulund, expects the new restaurants to be completed before the end of this fiscal.
"These are under our expansion plans and apart from the Rs 2.5-crore per mall, additional expenses including the real estate prices will also be incurred," says McDonald's India managing director (western region) Amit Jatia. "The locations for the malls are yet to be finalised; these will be built according to international specifications and style."
The company, meanwhile, expects to improve its revenues by 15 per cent after the advertisement campaign with the tag line 'I'm lovin' it' hit the Indian subcontinent. The campaign was launched in India from 5 October, which will be used concurrently in 100 nations across the world.
"In India it is used for promotions, public relations and overall brand communications initiatives," says Jatia. "McDonald's will be spending around Rs 3 crore for ad campaigns in the country. The campaign was filmed at various locations across the world, including Brazil and South Africa."
