Mumbai: Microsoft Corporation India Pvt. Ltd. will host its Tech.Ed 2005 in five cities this year. Targeted at the developer, server professional and architect communities, Microsoft Tech.Ed 2005 is aimed at providing them with insights in six key areas - developer tools, systems infrastructure, databases, mobility and embedded, connected systems and smart client, and architecture.

The event will commence in Bangalore on June 14, 2005, followed by Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and New Delhi. This year, the event will include over 60 sessions delivered by more than 45 speakers over three days in each city. Approximately 4,000 participants are expected to attend from the Indian subcontinent. The speakers at the event include experts from the industry, Microsoft's partners, Microsoft Redmond and Microsoft India.

This is the ninth year of the event, which this year is being supported by Intel, Dell, Sapient, Accenture, GrapeCity, and Avocent International, among others.

At this year's event, Microsoft is hosting a lunch session for women in technology to provide women developers, server professionals and architects an informal environment to engage and interact with experts from the industry.

Sheila Gulati, director, developer and platform evangelism, Microsoft India said, "Based on the past successes of Microsoft Tech.Ed, we have widened the scope of the event this year — included a special track for architects; invited IT professionals from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka as well as increased the numbers of sessions at the event."

Gulati added, "Microsoft Tech.Ed is an unparalleled platform to empower developers, server professionals and architects in organisations with the know-how and tools needed to develop effective software solutions, deploy state-of the-art server infrastructure and design integrated solution and system architectures. It is a meeting ground where technology professionals interact with thousands of peers, discuss the challenges they face in their work, explore solutions with the experts and add value to their organisation's IT investments."
