Nokia launches the Nokia 6260 slider
02 Dec 2008
Yes, this isn't a million miles away from the 6220 Classic, only this time there's a slide-out keyboard, trimming the profile whilst boosting the screen size.
Very similar in features to the 6220, this is very much your solid, reliable handset, with features headed up by HSDPA connectivity, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, photo/video sharing using Nokia's Ovi service and navigation via AGPS and Nokia Maps. A music player, web browser and 'hot key' access to all the main features from the home screen tie up the loose ends. None of that touch screen nonsense obviously; the 6260 slide is a sensible phone for sensible, no-frills people.
Quad-band operation, robust PIM features, TV out, etc. have become almost standard features of Nokia phones, and this series 60 model is no exception
It is expected to begin retailing in Europe at the beginning of 2009, priced around €299 without a contract.
