Porsche launches 911 Targa 4 and Targa 4S in India

Porsche has launched the 911 Targa 4 priced Rs1.59 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the more powerful Targa 4S costs Rs1.78 crore, Hindustan Times reported. Both the vehicles come with an all-wheel drive option.
The 911 Targa 4 features a 3.4-litre six-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 345 bhp and 39.8 kgm of torque. The Targa 4S is powered by a 3.8-litre unit that delivers 395 bhp and 44.9 kgm of torque.
Both cars feature a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and are equipped with the Sport Chrono package and both achieve a 0-100 kph timing of under 5 seconds.
The 911 Targa 4 hits a top speed of 282kmph, while the Targa 4S tops out at 296kph. The Targa 4S also offers an optional Carrera S Powerkit that boosts output by 29.5bhp, the rport said.
Anil Reddi, director, Porsche India said the 911 was a sports car that had won more races than any other. He added, the arrival of the car in India signified a new chapter in the legendary model's evolution and he was incredibly proud and excited to welcome it.
The 911 Targa 4 and 4S pack a host of tech features which include electrical system recuperation, map-controlled thermal management of the engine coolant and an auto stop-start function.
The 911 Targa featured a new automated roof system for the convertible, which, according to the company was the very latest in ground-breaking roof technology. The roof is capable of being deployed retracted in 90 seconds.
The 911 Targa sports the characteristic wide bar in lieu of the B-pillars and a wraparound rear window with no C-pillar, both which hark back to the classic models.
In addition to being a visual delight, the 911 Targa also provided predictable driving pleasure, The Hindu reported.
Power from the engines is transmitted to the wheels by the now famous automatic seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) and to the safety element, Porsche Traction Management came as standard on the all-wheel drive system.
To boost efficiency on these high-revving units, Porsche had outfitted the Targa with electrical system recuperation, map-controlled thermal management of the engine coolant and an auto stop/start function.
The new 911 Targa 4 and Targa 4S are available at all Porsche Centres in India with 911 Targa.
