Patni receives award for excellence in electronics

Mumbai: Patni Computer Systems Ltd., India''s 6th largest IT Services company (NASSCOM Strategic Review 2003, The IT Industry in India) has received the ''award for excellence in electronics'' for the year 2002-03 from the department of information technology, ministry of communications and information technology.
An ISO 9001:2000 certified and SEI-CMMi level 5 organisation, assessed enterprise wide at P-CMM Level 3, Patni was chosen as the top company in the computer software category. The awards recognise a company''s excellence in the exports of electronics and computer software. Patni''s exports jumped to Rs966 crore in 2002-03 from Rs740 crore in 2001-02.
The excellence award closely follows the ''udyog bhushan'' felicitation for. Narendra Patni, CEO and chairman, Patni Computers Systems Ltd. for the year 2004-05 for promoting information technology (IT) in the Pimpri-Chinchwad region of Maharashtra.
Commenting on the awards, P J Kutar, resident director, Patni said, "Over the years we have emerged as one of the largest software solution providers in India. We stand committed to the growth of the Indian IT industry."
