Reliance Energy among 23 bidders for development of Amritsar Airport

Anil Ambani Group firm Reliance Energy is among the 23 bidders who have submitted their bids for the commercial operation, maintenance of terminal building, development and operation of cargo facilities and city side development of the Amritsar International Airport in Punjab.
The government had invited bids for commercial operation, maintenance of terminal building, development and operation of cargo facilities and city side development of the airport.
The government has undertaken the modernisation and upgradation of 35 non-metro airports by the year 2010. The city side development of 25 such airports will be done through the public private partnership route in phases. The first of which are Amritsar and Udaipur.
The applications will now be opened for evaluation on 16th January 2008.
