The CBI today told the Supreme Court that it was probing the alleged involvement of Anil Ambani in the 2G spectrum allocation case.
The premier investigative agency added it would probe further to find out the real beneficiaries in the 2G scam. Meanwhile, the CBI gave a clean chit to Datacom owned by Videocon Industries, in the multi-million scam.
The investigative agency refuted the charge that the DMK family had been gifted land by the Tata group for favours in spectrum allocation. The investigating agency told the apex court that unlike Swan and Unitech, Datacom was eligible to for licence.
According to the CBI, Tata Teleservices was not favoured by former telecom minister A Raja.
The CBI said, the Tata Group lost spectrum allocation due to Raja's conspiracy with other co-accused in the 2G scam.
