RCom wins multiple government orders worth Rs150 crore

Reliance Communications has won multiple orders totalling Rs150 crore from various central and state departments to provide data centre capabilities, IT infrastructure and connectivity services.
The company has signed long-term contracts with the Department of Posts (DoP), Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (BMC), Madhya Pradesh Border Checkpost Development Company Ltd, Karnataka Discom and Chattisgarh Discom.
RCom has signed an agreement for five years with Karnataka Discom, under which it would help in rolling out MPLS service across 850 locations and Wireless data connectivity across 60,000 data acquisition points.
A similar, six-year agreement was also signed with Chattisgarh Discom for rolling out MPLS service across 250 locations.
The MPLS VPN service is a secure network of high speed wireless last mile connectivity and provides remote offices or traveling users access to the central organisational network.
For the Department of Posts, the company would host servers over a 3,000 square feet space in Navi Mumbai, and a disaster recovery site in Mysore. This site will be operated and maintained for five years.
