After 4G, Jio to offer fibre optic connections boasting 1 Gbps
12 Sep 2016
Reliance Jio has already made a huge splash with the introduction of its 4G mobile service, but it doesn't end there. Reports today said it was also working on fibre optic technology which would enable it to provide internet speeds of up to 1 Gbps, a speed the average Indian could so far only dream of. Reliance is finally opening this for public testing at plans that start as low as Rs500.
The plans starting at Rs500 would not get 1 Gbps, however, According to Newsient, these will have a speed of 15 Mbps and FUP around 600 GB and would be valid for 30 days.
There are a lot of other attractive plans offered by Reliance Jio Fiber Broadband. There are plans with no speed caps too.
On the flip side, a lot of users complain about Jio 4G which they are currently using. They say they are getting random speeds and sometimes they get speeds less than what 2G gives. That could be because of network congestion because Reliance has sold more than 15 lakh units in India. But such problems won't happen with the wired broadband connections.
