Rolta Q2 net up 30.4 per cent

Mumbai: Rolta India Ltd has shown significant gains in its second quarter (Q2) ended December 31, 2004. Total revenue for the quarter was up 39.2 per cent at Rs86.36 crore (Rs62.06 crore), while Q2 net profit (PAT) was up 30.4 per cent at Rs26.21 crore (Rs20.11 crore). Diluted earnings per share and cash earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs4.12 (Rs3.16) and Rs6.52 (Rs4.99), signifying a growth of 30.4 per cent and 30.7 per cent over the previous year respectively.

Total income for the half year ended December 31, 2004 was Rs161.92 crore (Rs127.28 crore), an increase of 27.2 per cent over the corresponding period in the previous year, while PAT for the half year was Rs51.33 crore (Rs42.50 crore), reflecting a growth of 20.8 per cent.

Rolta has continued to expand its capacity and capabilities to handle not only existing projects, but also build expertise and skills in anticipation of foreseeable business. The company has continued with its scalable recruitment and human resources management process and has inducted over 400 engineers in various disciplines during the last quarter. In line with its philosophy of acquiring top-level expertise and certifications, in addition to its current world-class accreditations, Rolta has also been awarded the BS 7799 certification, while BS 15000 and CMMI are in process.
