Samsung launches Champ, Omnia Lite full-touch phones

Samsung Electronics today announced the enhancement of its touch screen range by launching Samsung Champ and Omnia Lite.
Announcing the launch, Ranjit Yadav, director, mobile and IT, Samsung India, said, ''While the Samsung Champ is a touch screen phone aimed at the young consumers who love music and enjoy an active online social life, the Omnia Lite is for consumers who want multimedia entertainment as well as business features on their phones.''
With the launch of the two touch screen phones, Samsung's touch portfolio now boasts of 23 models across multiple price points.
The Samsung Champ or C3303 is designed so it can function as an enhanced music player with a 3.5mm ear jack and dual speakers. It is equipped with wireless FM, 30 MB internal memory that is expandable upto 8GB, 2.4'' QVGA touch screen, three-page extended menu, Touchwiz Lite 2.0, VGA camera and image editor, and an advanced mobile tracker.
Champ allows customisation of the home screen upto seven pages and one can highlight the widgets and applications that they would like to use. Users can upload photos to their favourite SNS sites like Facebook, MySpace, Photobucket, Flickr, Friendster, Picassa, and Twitter through Samsung Communities.
The handset comes with a curvaceous body and crystal design and is priced at Rs4,500.
Samsung Omnia Lite is based on Windows mobile 6.5 pro edge platform. Users can view, edit MS word, MS excel, powerpoint slides, view pdf files, use the MS exchange server push e-mail and IBM Lotus NoteTraveler that support automatic email updates.
The Omnia Lite priced at Rs17,560, comes with 3G connectivity, 3 megapixel camera, provides DiVx and Xivd support with which users can access a whole range of powerful multimedia features without the necessity for converting files for video player, 250 MB internal memory expandable to another 32GB.
