Some of the brightest stars on the TV circuit gathered last night on one platform for the Star Parivaar Awards presentation dressed in stunning finery and that set the stage for Star Plus to unveil its new logo, the Ruby Star. Along with the Ruby Star the channel launched a fresh programming initiative to reflect its perspective Rishta Wahi, Soch Nayi (old relationship, fresh thoughts) - a fresh take on life and relationships.

The nayi soch which is manifest in the shows currently being aired captures the evolving nature of relationships and will continue to be supported by all content on the channel.

Uday Shankar, CEO, Star India Pvt Ltd, said, ''This is the first time in the history of television brands in India that a refresh has happened in such depth of detail, permeating to the core of its business.

Nayi soch is basically fresh perspectives, which will now reflect in everything the channel will do, from the point of creating content to creating brand solutions for advertisers, to adding value to our distributors, stakeholders and employees.''

The channel will however continue to celebrate the family, with the woman at its core  - women who keep the family together and unceasingly support its aspirations, and its quest for fulfillment of its dreams of a better future.

''India has always been a land of new thought, which had perhaps been forgotten in our preoccupation with development, and Star Plus aims to revive convention through its refreshed brand promise of rishta wahi, soch nayi. We are committed to entertaining our viewers with content that propels them in a new direction and setting the agenda for entertainment on Hindi GECs,'' Shankar said.

The channel also presented a glimpse of two of it's upcoming shows, ''Master Chef India' and ''Chaand Chhupa Baadal Mein'. The former, a cookery reality show will be hosted by Akshay Kumar and the latter is producer Rajan Shahi's newest offering to the channel after ''Bidaai ''and ''Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai'.
