By Hyderabad: | 11 Nov 2003
Hyderabad: Satyam Computer Services has announced that it has successfully enabled a unit of LG CNS in Korea to be certified at eSourcing Capability Model (eSCM), capability level 3. LGNet, a unit within LG CNS, (an affiliate of LG Corporation) providing connectivity to its customers worldwide, has been certified under the model.
LG CNS is a market leader in the Korean IT service market and has played a major role in the Korean government's e-Korea initiatives. This announcement comes in conjunction with the certification awarded by Carnegie Mellon University to LG CNS on 7 November 2003.
Satyam, as a founding partner of the consortium, has supported Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh USA, to develop the eSourcing Capability Model eSCM. Other members of the eSCM consortium at Carnegie Mellon include Accenture, IBM Global Services, EDS and STQC, Government of India.
The eSCM provides guidance to IT-enabled sourcing (ITES) service providers (includes BPO and IT service providers) to improve their capability to deliver high-quality services consistently. The eSCM model and its evaluation methods enable service providers to establish, manage, and continually improve sourcing relationships with clients.
