Satyam tops Forrester Research''s SAP implementation ratings

Hyderabad: According to The Forrester Wave: Indian SAP Services, Q4 2005, a study conducted by Forrester Research, Inc Satyam Computer Services (NYSE: SAY), has the strongest, most global SAP offerings today.

To determine the state of the SAP services market, Forrester evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of nine Indian service providers.

"Of all the Indian vendors evaluated, Satyam clearly has the largest and deepest SAP Practice at present. Its track record and customer references underscore its long-term investment in this area. Satyam will continue to invest in SAP skills and offerings and is likely to maintain a lead in this area for at least the next 12 months, despite the impressive SAP investments of the other Indian vendors," says Stephanie Moore, vicepresident of IT services research group at Forrester Research.

Forrester evaluated Satyam's current offerings and strategy for SAP services against 24 criteria; overall Satyam scored remarkably well , particularly in terms of its global presence and capabilities. According to Forrester, unlike most vendors who are suited to carryout only the latter part of SAP implementation and lack the expertise in business process modeling needed for the implementation, Satyam is best suited for all types and sizes of SAP projects. The study further concluded, that Satyam has an incredibly strong relationship with SAP, making SAP industry- or customer-specific customisations easier to realise through a Satyam relationship.

The Forrester study notes, "Satyam has deep vertical expertise in six sectors, the largest of which are manufacturing, consumer packaged goods and telecommunications. The Company also has extensive global reach in 46 countries, including 10 major global rollouts recently. Furthermore, Satyam has a large number of clients for complex SAP projects, including several active maintenance deals, many of which are larger in scope."
