Tata Chemicals in consultancy pact with Nigeria's Notore Chemical Industries

Tata Chemicals Ltd (TCL) has executed a technical advisory services agreement with Notore Chemicals Industries Limited of Nigeria, under which Tata Chemicals will provide technical advisory services for improving the efficiency of Notore's fertiliser plant at Onne, River State, Nigeria.
Notore manufactures urea and owns an ammonia plant which uses the KBR (Kellogg Brown & Root) process and a stamicarbon urea plant.
TCL will send its experts to Notore to help the company improve the systems and processes resulting in the efficiencies of area of operations and maintenance.
The work involves no investment at present and TCL has linked its fees to improvement in the output from the plant, a company release said.
The news comes close on the heels of TCL's $290-million acquisition of a 25.1 per cent stake in a greenfield, port-based, ammonia-urea fertiliser manufacturing complex in the Republic of Gabon, in Africa.
Tata Chemicals has joined as a strategic investor in the project after the project's original promoters Olam and the government of Gabon agreed to pare their stakes to bring in a strategic investor.
