Tata Motors said on Friday that it had bagged two awards from Autoweek for its luxury Jaguar-Land Rover marques at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Jaguar C-X16 was the 'best in show' winner, while the Land Rover Defender Concept 100 Sport was chosen 'best concept' by the well-known magazine, the company said in a statement.
"Winning two of the top media awards in our industry at the Frankfurt Motor Show is a tremendous achievement for the Jaguar and Land Rover brands," Jaguar Land Rover global head (Communications) Frank Klaas said.
"The C-X16 is our compelling vision for a 21st century Jaguar sports car. It embodies the established Jaguar strengths of sensual design and inspirational performance and combines these with attributes that set us on a course to create sustainable sports cars of the future," Jaguar Cars global brand director Adrian Hallmark said.
Meanwhile Tata Motors shares have been on the uptrend on the Bombay Stock Exchange, registering the biggest gain in 18 months on Friday. The shares surged by 7.02 per cent after the company reported a 3 per cent year-on-year growth in its global sales at 87,459 units for August.
