Tata Motors, India's largest commercial vehicles manufacturer and owner of British iconic car company Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has been rated as the most reputed company in India, according to a survey by New York-based research firm Nielsen.
The survey of 32 Indian companies on service, product quality, financial performance and talent pool, featured another Tata Group company, Tata Steel, among the top five, according to a report from PTI.
Others that made it to Nielsen's 11th Corporate Image Monitor top five included Aditya Birla Nuvo, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Industries.
Tata Motors, which was ranked second last year, was this year given the highest rating by Nielsen for its innovative techniques, providing reliable products and striving for excellence.
The survey that consulted 1700 people such as policy makers, influence groups, the financial community, investors, top level management across corporates, covered the top listed companies based on market capitalisation, sales and assets.
''The Corporate Reputation Index is a testament to a brand's reputation, by people that matter most to it,'' said Nielsen India executive director, Dinesh Kapoor.
