Tata Motors Group global wholesales cross 1 lakh units in September

The Tata Motors Group global wholesales, including those of Jaguar Land Rover, rose 5 per cent year-on-year to 1,02,289 units in September 2016. Cumulative wholesales for the fiscal so far were 12 per cent higher at 5,37,187 units compared to FY15-16.
Global wholesales of all Tata Motors' commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range in September 2016 stood at 34,394 units, up 1 per cent compared to September 2015 sales. Cumulative commercial vehicle wholesales for the fiscal so far (April-September 2016-17) were higher by 4 per cent at 188,758 units.
Global wholesales of all passenger vehicles in September 2016 were 7 per cent higher at 67,895 units compared to September 2015. Cumulative passenger vehicle wholesales for the current fiscal (April-September) stood 6 per cent higher at 348,429 vehicles.
Jaguar wholesales for the month stood at 16,211 vehicles, while cumulative wholesales stood at 78,190 vehicles. Land Rover wholesales for September 2016 stood at 36,703 vehicles, while its cumulative wholesales stood at 195,371 vehicles.
Cumulative wholesales for Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal (April-September) stood at 273,561 vehicles.
Global wholesales for Jaguar Land Rover were 52,914 vehicles (Includes CJLR wholesales of 6,539 vehicles). CJLR is a JV between JLR and Chery Automobiles and is an unconsolidated subsidiary for JLR.
Tata Motors is also riding high on its domestic sales in September which rose 8 per cent to 48,648 units while Jaguar Land Rover sales increased 28 per cent to 61,047 units, indicating a good festive demand.
Mayank Pareek, president of passenger vehicles business, said the initial festive demand beginning Onam has been very good for Tata Motors, adding that initial response from Navratri festival looks great.

Pareek said the auto industry grew 20 per cent in September, on the back of festival demand and he expects Tata Motors' third-quarter performance to improve year-on-year.
