Tata Technologies to develop educational programmes for BITS Pilani

Engineering services and manufacturing enterprise IT services provider Tata Technologies today said it had signed a memorandum of gareement with Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani, to design and implement specialised educational programmes for skill development of engineering professionals, students and faculty.
Tata Technologies would support existing BITS industry interface programs such as Practice School I & II for internships and industry immersion for faculty refreshers.
BITS would run specialised programmes created with expert industry perspective and inputs from Tata Technologies; leading to specific degrees of BITS through its off-campus Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP).
''Industry relevant education, in close collaboration with industry, has been a cornerstone of the educational philosophy of BITS Pilani for the last four decades," said, Prof. G Sundar, senior professor, chemistry, deputy director, off-campus programmes, BITS Pilani.
As the first step, a select group of employees from Tata Technologies will undergo a specially designed masters program (MS) in automotive engineering from BITS.
The employees enrolled in this programme will attend classes online through virtual classrooms without being dislocated from their work environment. The first batch will start in August 2013.
