Telenor India pilots 4G in Dhanbad

Telenor India has launched a pilot to deliver high speed 4G services in Dhanbad, following the successful test pilot of the services across its six circles in the country.
Subscribers will now experience high-speed wireless mobile internet on the company's advance network architecture and get on to the digital superhighway to cater to their data needs.
''The demand for high speed internet services is growing rapidly and the penetration of 4G-enabled handsets is increasing. We are really excited to offer high speed 4G services to our customers in Dhanbad and strengthen our presence in Jharkhand,'' said A E A Jameel, circle business head, Bihar & Jharkhand, Telenor India, in a medi statement.
''With 100 percent sites being ready in the city with advanced equipment and efficient spectral deployment, the company is geared up to offer superior speed and better experience at affordable price. In addition to this, the network is energy efficient and much more reliable, this makes Telenor network one of the best in the city both on voice and data services. We stand committed to our promise of full paisa vasool,'' he added.
The high speed 4G data packs are available to customers in different price points of Rs11, Rs148 and Rs248. At Rs11, customers get 100 MB 4G data with 1-day validity, while Rs 148 offers 1 GB 4G data with tariffs of 25 paise per minute for all local calls and 30 paise per minute for STD calls with validity of 28 days.
High data users can avail Rs248, which offers 2 GB 4G data with tariffs of 25 paise per minute for all local calls and 30 paise per minute for STD Calls with validity of 28 days.
Telenor announced the modernisation of its entire network in 2015 which should be completed by 2017.
Over 10,000 of the total network sites have already been modernised as of now. In Jharkhand of the 1,203 sites, 1,017 have already been modernised with new equipment.
