Tarang and HP have implemented the solution jointly. With this launch, NTT DoCoMo has become the first telecom company in Japan to provide mobile payments and wireless account aggregation services. Thousands of customers have already registered for this service.
The account aggregation feature developed by Tarang enables DoCommerce users to check simultaneously on one single screen, the balances of their various financial accounts with banks or credit card companies. By requiring just one password, this convenient solution greatly helps to save time by eliminating the need to access and view each account separately.
To begin with, 18 financial institutions including three credit card companies will participate in the DoCommerce aggregation service.
The service will enable both 2G and 3G SSL-compatible handset users to enjoy mobile shopping and pay online with their VISA or JCB credit cards. Initially 10 virtual shops, including three malls and 10 boutiques selling items such as accessories, perfumes and healthcare goods, will be on the DoCommerce dedicated site () via I-mode handsets.
Says Tarang president Revathi Kasturi: "It has been a privilege to work with NTT DoCoMo and HP. The I-mode service is already a big success story worldwide. With the launch of this new innovative DoCommerce service we are sure it will become even more popular. It has been a wonderful experience working with the HP team who have set very high professional standards for the entire team."
