Bangalore: After Tata Sherwood, this is the company's second residential project in the south Indian market and is reported to be a pre-certified green building from Indian Green Building Council in addition to being Bangalore's tallest and most luxurious residential apartment.
This apartment is located within the HMT township at Jalahalli, en route to Devanhalli where the new Bangalore airport is located.
Unveiling a sand sculpture replica of Aquila Heights created by the artist Sudarsan Pattnaik, Brotin Banerjee, managing director of Tata Housing Development Company Limited, said that the apartments would be ready for occupation in three years time, and is confident that by next Diwali, the fortunes for real estate market will take a turn for the better. He expects a ''silver'' rating for the six acre, environmental-friendly township.
Aquila Heights comprises three towers, Atria (29 floors), Polaris (32 floors) and Vega (29 floors), with four apartments per floor consisting of two 2100sqft apartments with three-bedrooms, one 2½-bedroom apartment spread over 1600sqft, and one two-bedroom apartment measuring 1400sqft.
Designed by international architects, these towers have a contemporary theme with steel and glass dominating the elevation of the buildings. Using 11 per cent ground coverage, 89 per cent of the area is open. The amenities and activities being offered to residents include two swimming pools: an indoor temperature controlled pool and an outdoor infinity lap pool; themed gardens and a gym. Each tower has its own helipad.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Banerjee said, ''On studying the market in Bangalore, we found that there was a need for a differentiated product which offers a lot more to its residents than the conventional residential complex, a product that is modern and conventional and yet unique in its offering. Aquila Heights offers its residents a lifelong vacation from the crowded, noisy city life without taking them away from it''.
Tata Housing Development Company Limited, established in 1984, is a fully owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Limited.
