25 May 2011
Tata Consultancy Services, the country's largest software exporter, is set to enter the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) markets of Ukraine and Belarus, besides pushing further into the Russian market.
TCS, which hopes to emerge the world's top software firm in the not too distant future, plans to enter the CIS market with a bouquet of financial software products, including its premier offering TCS BaNCS, to banks, insurance companies and capital market entities, reports quoting TCS sources said today.
The expansion is part of TCS' strategy to emerge the world's top player in the software market over the coming years.
TCS, the world's seventh largest software services provider by revenue, is also among the world's top five software companies in terms of its market capitalisation, employee base and net profit.
The company has joined hands with Universal Kube, a Moscow-based IT services company, which will serve as its implementation partner for the region.
"Tatas chose Universal KUBE as its partner in Russia because it possesses unique expertise in introducing and accompanying different banking platforms and at the same time has an excellent knowledge of our products, which will represent our interests in CIS countries," said Ganapati Subramaniam, president of TCS Financial Solutions.
